For this project, I explored the nature of connectivity by projecting people outside my immediate circle onto elements around my home, incorporating their presence electronically, but recreating instances of togetherness otherwise impossible.

In our distanced world today, many elements of interpersonal relationships are lost; phone calls and FaceTimes can only provide so much emotional fulfillment. Connection seeks to engage normally static features of the domestic environment, like couches, tables, and chairs, and create spaces where the semblance of connection has the ability to occur once more. This project defines interiority in the objective sense, by expanding the relationship between real surroundings, while also simultaneously reconstituting them into vehicles of the exterior and interpersonal engagement.

Connection was advised by Krzysztof Wodiczko for VIS 2481: Public Projection at Harvard Graduate School of Design, Fall 2020.
